Does anyone know of a supplier of LiPo's that might carry one similar in size and capacity to the PKZ1033 the plane came with? I am not looking for larger batteries...I'm not interested in modifying my battery box. I would just like to find comparable batteries at a more reasonable (cheaper) price. $24.00 is bad enough, then add the shipping and it becomes quite painful on the wallet. Any Ideas? Thanks!

Hi
May want to add you location so we can make good recommendations.
I have been this many years now, and I buy all my batteries from HK (Hobby King)If I do not mind waiting, nor paying a little more in shipping to get them faster, or I buy them from the USA warehouse. Or I buy them from Hobbypartz. Not sure what your stock battery is but I use anything from 1550mah 20C up to 2200 25C, all work great. I pay anywhere from 8.00 to 13.00 apiece. Pretty good deal I think. I have had no issues, just have to treat them right.

The battery box is so tight that you best pay close attention to dimensions AND how the wire exits for any battery you buy. Honestly, it's way easier to just modify the battery box. In addition EC3 connectors are not a common standard. You'll likely be changing the battery or the plane.

Just because it's 1300 doesn't mean it will fit. Check the dimensions, then hope.

Just because it's 130 doesn't mean it will fit. Check the dimensions, then hope. Fly is correct, as always. One buggeration about battery size is this: although the manufacturer's quoted height measurement ('B' in this case) may be accurate, the connector leads often emerge in a 'bump', increasing the height of that end of the battery. Thus, it may require squeezing into the battery box. Over time, squeezing the connector end in and out of the battery box may damage the connector leads. This fitting problem can sometimes be overcome by carving out a gap in the top of the battery box, for the 'bump' to pass through more easily.

Groups like this and the net have created a consumer battery problem. 1. Most battery cells come from a limited number of factories many based in China. 2. Packs tend to be assembled and 'labelled' at a broad range of places. 3. Sometimes the retailer/distributor buying the cells has some control over the cells they buy and matching them up(like Thunderpower) , sometimes they take the standard run (probably Turnigy, Zippy, etc), some even distribute seconds (eBay can do this). 4. EVERYONE is looking for the best cheap cell though some folks really do believe they get a better product if they buy top end. 5. This issue is talked about constantly and in real time all over the world by thousands of RC enthusiasts. 6. As soon as a genuine 'best buy' is found it is swarmed, all the stock is bought up, and the retailer cannot keep up with demand. They either go out of stock (common) or buy cells of less quality. Then the quality goes down. They LOOK the same, so it's hard to tell the difference. 7. This drop in quality takes awhile to 'catch up' since there are SO MANY people using them. Some really know what they are doing. Others shouldn't be allowed to play with lipos. This makes opinions about quality, longevity, and performance become more a matter of opinion than fact for most people. But, you get enough opinions together, sort them into statistical piles and you kind of get group intelligence that has some value. 8. The new best lipo retailer now starts getting slammed for being out of stock or now selling funky lipos. The ravening herd moves on to swarm the next one to trash. It's a feeding frenzy. The cycle continues.
Then the next guy wondering where to get a good cheap lipo wonders why he can't get a straight answer. Sorry, the feeding pack and the opinions have already moved on.
