I have given you the fish and chip thread, the bacon sandwich thread, the Marmite thread, now for your delectation and delight, the crumpet thread!
Now this may not be what some of you are thinking. Not crumpet as in the case of "she's a smashing bit of crumpet", but the ones that you put under the grill until they turn golden brown. But, what to put on this tempting little roundel? Over to you gentlemen.............

Capt. Crunch, I like your sense of humour. However, you have neglected to inform the forum as to your crumpet preferences. Somewhat remiss of you I feel. There are a number of things in life that should be enjoyed to the utmost, as I am sure you will be aware. 1) Flying, crashing, repairing and flying once again, the beloved Super Cub. The very finest crash I have ever seen involves rugby posts. (You know the one I mean). 2) Bacon sandwiches. 3) Fish and chips. 4) Marmite 5) Crumpet. (both varieties) I must say that it fills me with immense pride that I have posted a thread that has compelled you to add a comment. Please post more on the forum, I feel your humour is much needed and will be appreciated by all. Subtle yet cutting, I like it! ;D BTW when you have a moment, might you be kind enough to update your profile to show your location? It is always good to know how near/distant that other forumites might be. For all I know, you might live around the corner from me, but you still can't borrow my Marmite. Happy flying.

That darn post? You mean this one? www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVj907TdYiAI have watched this more times than Top Gun, (and that is a LOT). ;D I watch it whilst eating crumpets spread with MARMITE and drinking copious quantities of real ale. I will post a thread on real ale another time.

I know i'm a bit late to jump on the bandwagon here, but it must be said that vegemite is clearly the spread of choice to be put on buttered crumpets

Have you tried honey, peanut butter, jam, perhaps? But one always defers to the ultimate spread of choice, MARMITE.

Crumpet? Marmite? Vegemite? How evil are you? How very dare you! Salted English butter. That's it. With a pot of Earl Grey. End of discussion.

Salted butter? That sounds so unhealthy I would have thought that the Yanks would have been the one to invent it.
Yes I've tried peanut butter and jam - why just the other night i made three crumpets, one vegemite, one peanut butter and one jam, and while they were all delicious, vegemite was the clear winner
