Has anyone used standard sized servo's in their cub? If so can you post pictures of them installed? I have a couple that came with my new radio gear and thought about using them in the SC..
TIA,
Jerry

You can't. The cub use 5-wire servos. Standard servos are 3 wire. This is pretty much proprietary BS on PZ's part IMO. FWIW they are moving to more standardized equipment for some of their stuff.
If you are changing the whole system to use with the new TX then you certainly can. fly

Yeah - Im using my Seeker II radio with a Tracker III TX. I was just curious if those standard servo's would be too big or not...

Well.....what do you mean by "standard"? For many parkflyer applications that often translates to Hitec HS-55, probably a tad smaller (have not compared) than the Cub. I was using standard = 3-wire.

They are the bigger ones. Not "Micro" sized... They are probably too big. I mean they would fit in there but guess I should just buy some "Micro" sized like the HS-55's or 81's

They will work but it is very impractical. Sell them if you do not need them and buy some of the above mentioned.

HS-81s fit perfectly. Put on a little low-temp hot glue, and they sit in the pre-cut pocket like a champ.

Awesome! I will get the 81's then. Thats also what the LHS suggested.. A bit pricey @ 20 bucks each but at least they will progress through the hobby with me...

If I remember when I get home tonight, I'll snap a photo to show just how perfect they fit in that pocket.

As promised, here's a photo of the HS-81s all snug in their Cubbie pocket: Note: Haven't centered the servos yet, so that's why the full arms are still on and in the wrong spot.

Sam77 Did you wrap your servo casings with electrical tape? if you didn't its a neat trick for the future. It keeps the glue of the casing and makes life easier when you might have to replace a stripped gear.
