Most YouTube videos I watch tell you to unplug and disable the ACT.
Can I steal power from the ACT terminals if I have the sensors removed from the A/C to use for LED lights...?
I'm thinking I can, need to get a voltage meter to see which terminal in HOT, then just use the toggle switch on the controller to turn them on and off...
Any words of wisdom...?

2. hints here: 1. No-ACT terminals are worthless for anything else. 2. Please don't make multiple posts of the same thing.

Use ACT terminals as signal to turn LEDs ON & OFF from controller, and have the LEDs on their own power source...
I'm new to this message board, didn't mean to post in two locations... My mistake... Removed duplicate post... Sorry
What do you think...?

Another hint, or two. 1) Read flydiver's reply to your post. At least three times please. 2) I realise that you want to set your lights up as easily as possible, but things aren't always like that in this hobby, or life. Patience, innovation and above all, taking the advice of seriously experienced and knowledgeable people like fly are the three things that will allow you to progress.

I don't appreciate the sarcasum in Note #1, if you don't ask the question, you'll never get an answer... I'm a Aircraft Design Engineer for primary and secondary structure, I'm a very knowledgeable person too, but not in the electronic field.
Thought I would ask the professionals that deal with this stuff day to day, like you guys...
I have a Electrical Engineer buddy that seems to think it might work, or not... As long as I'm being respectful I should be able to ask any intelligent question I wish... That's what this board if for...
I just ordered an auto ranged digital Multimeter, and in a few days to a week I'll find out for sure if this could be done... If it can be done, I'll make sure I post with how I did it... If not, I'm still going to install LED's, but on their own power source and on/off switch... That would be the easy way...

Oh Dear, Joey, It would seem that you have become somewhat offended. No offence meant old chap, this was not my intention. Please accept my apologies, it just seemed that you were questioning expert advice, despite being given a definitive answer from flydiver. As you said, you asked the professionals, but you did not listen. You asked the question but did not like the answer. If you and your buddy are that educated/clever, might I respectfully enquire as to why are you asking the "intelligent" question? As for the electronics, this is about as basic as it gets. I would have thought your electrical engineer buddy would surely have had a multimeter to hand? Basic workshop tools/needs for such a person? As for your last comment, respectful, I think not, you know nothing about me, my qualifications, education, awards or knowledge. Also it is rather an old quotation, "lux euolat velocius quam sonus" etc., etc. BTW "Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until they speak" is attributed to Albert Einstein, not an American "comedian" born in 1955, the same year that Einstein died. Please consider our communications at an end in the best interests of this superb forum, and your sensitivities, I look forward to your posted solution with avid enthusiasm, however I will decline to comment upon it, I do hope that you understand. I wish you and your buddy every success with your endeavours. BTW sarcasm is the correct spelling, not sarcasum, no offence meant old chap, just thinking about "some people appear bright until they speak" Happy flying and may your Cub remain intact.

Your's was a very common question. I could spend way too long finding the links for you or type for 15", but in the end the answer is the same. ACT receives signals from the sensors and uses some unique algorithm to process it. You can turn it on and off but as far as I know it has no useable output.

Renard, Noted and agreed. I have had a lot of laughs with other members on this forum and long may this continue. May the "music" button on your car radio get tuned into something more acceptable to you! BTW Is the weather in Southampton as bad as it is here in Sussex? When will it stop?

Walks into thread and spies two denizens with arched backs and fur stuck straight up, walking stiff legged while hissing and spitting.
What to do?
Bucket of water?
Tazer?
Throw a naked woman in the ring?
All of the above?

hounddog, you good old Yorkshire lad, Good to have your usual banter back again! Missed you old chap. I love your last post regarding the carbon fibre to scavenge, still chuckling now. But of course, get all the spare bits and bobs that you can. "Arched backs and fur stuck straight up, walking stiff legged while hissing and spitting." Sounds like the people I had to deal with on a daily basis in my previous life, except that they were usually on drugs and alcohol and sometimes armed with a handy rottweiler to resist arrest! LOL. They still got put in the van though. ;D The water never proved that useful with the dogs, usually a kick in their nuts did the trick. Tazer, oh have I experience of that? I will leave it to your imagination. Naked women, (note the plural) now you are talking, as long as they don't belong to the above mentioned, PLEASE. BTW my lights on the Cub work really well, I use them to read by on these dark and dreary days/evenings we are having, it is perfectly OK as long as you don't mind weird colours on the page you are reading, here in what is laughing called the United Kingdom, in which most of us can't afford to buy food, heat and light our homes at the same time. However, I can still find money for batteries, spares, paint, tape (lots), I have no idea how, just good money management I suppose.

This is sounding just the sort of thing we all need. So, as I see it, hounddog brings the bacon and women, I bring the beer and fish and chips (they might get soggy on the way but I will do my best) and we meet up at iandhunts It's a bit cold where you are though ian, couldn't we go somewhere warm and sunny?
