How long can you fly before having to recharge the battery on the DX-6??? I mean do you charge it over night & just fly for half a day or what??? Also, I heard that it is not recommended to be field charged.. Has anyone had any issues with this?? Thanks in advance for any info.

I have a DX6 and it seems that I have to charge it over night to have about 45+ minutes of fly time. I can't say that I've ever timed it, but I have heard the low battery alarm twice. Having said all that, I must say that *love* the DX6. I especially like the spread spectrum frequency -- you can start flying with no concern that you will interfer with other flyers. I use the DX6 with my other plane and now I am getting ready to upgrade my SC to fly with the DX6.

If you do some googleing, you will see that you can get LiPo batteries for your TX. I haven't done this w/ my DX7 but what I've read is people can go for a couple of weeks of flying every day w/ a LiPo. You can also upgrade the battery to a NiMh from the stock NiCd. The DX7's come w/ the NiMh, When I had my DX6 it came with the NiCd. I like the NiMh's better because they don't suffer from the memory effect the NiCd's do.

When I had my DX6 it came with the NiCd. Looks like they still come with NiCd because that's what I have. I'm not ready to put a Lipo in it, but I'll look into upgrading to NiMH when the charging becomes a problem.

Actually I believe the NiCd's are better for radio's due to the extremely low internal resistance.
