For some reason when I hold down on the trainer switch of my DX6i as instructed in the range check mode conducting a range check, the plane responds well @ 100' which is good I know. But I have a question,,, does anyone elses have the word ACT in the lower right hand corner of the display while performing the check. I just thought it was odd. It does it with or without the ACT leads plugged in. Anyone ??

Do you have the "Anti-Crash Technology" still plugged in??? On the dx6i, ACT = active INH = inhibit. BTW, unplug the ACT (Anti-Crash Technology).....kill, crush, destroy!! It is a bad idea to leave it plugged in.....people call it Auto-Crash Technology for a reason!
On page 13, ACT will display when you are perfoming a range check, indicating the Range Check is ACTive. This is normal.

I too have just bought a DX6i and, like you, got confused at first with the mention of ACT! (Btw, have never used the ACT and have now unplugged it from the receiver.)
Great radio by the way. For me the best feature over the DX4e is Exponential - now I can have high rates with max throws for when the occasion demands, but with response nice and gentle when the sticks are not moved too far, giving nice smooth flying.

Thank you for the response !!! When I do the range check and hold down the trainer swtich I also get a continuous beeping as long as I hold the switch down. I assume this is normal also... But I do love the DX6i,,, P.S - ACT is unplugged and will stay that way. I fly fine without it.

The beep is an audible warning that you are in range check mode.
