Hello everyone. I just got my hands on a new BNF Super Cub LP. It went together without a hitch. Looks great. I have never flown an RC aircraft before and I am a little shy because I really don't want to crash it as it looks so nice brand new. I will taxi it around on the ground for awhile until I get the nerve to actually fly it. I need to concentrate on getting used to the reverse when it is coming towards me from behind. My name is Ben Ott. I live in Celina, Ohio. I work as a Quality Technician at Crown Equipment Corp. We make electric Fork Lifts. I have a wife and a 9 year old daughter. She is in 2 nd grade. I hope to hear from some of you nice people soon and look forward to being a cheerful poster on these blogs. Everyone take care and best wishes.

Hi Ben, Welcome to the best forum and most informative site you could have introduced yourself to! Please, please, please read the threads on strengthening the Cub and other really very minor mods required BEFORE YOU FLY. As for control of the Cub when it is coming towards you (when in flight), "always go to the wing that is low" this means that if the wing on YOUR left (as you look at it) is low, then move your transmitter stick to the left. This will level the Cub and of course vice-versa.
Glad to hear that you have a lovely wife and daughter. I have been married to my lady for 36 years in October, I count myself lucky that she still puts up with an old boy like me. I have two fine sons and have the privilege to not just be their father but their friend.
I wish you zero wind speed, sunny days and happy flying!

Welcome! The BEST way to learn is to find someone with experience and 'buddy box'. You need 2 compatible transmitters. Baring a buddy box have them take it WAY up and give you the controls and give them back when things go badly. Forget the airplane. Get an instructor. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1111124The next best is get a flying Simulator and practice on that a LOT. There are a bunch of them, some even free. Google [Flying Simulator] What you spend on the SIM you don't spend on replacement parts. The last is learn yourself. That by far will be hardest on you and the Cub. The first and last few seconds of flight are by far the most dangerous. 6 Keys to Success by Ed Anderson www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18

Hello Crazy Horse and Flydiver. Thank you for your replies. I will take your advise very seriously. I will seek out the local club and see if I can use the buddy box system. I have the DX6i Spektrum transmitter and I believe it is fairly common. It binded right away to the SC no problem. If I receive any tips, advise, or suggestions, I will put the highest seriousness on it. Your comments will be read with the greatest care. You all have my total attention on here. Once again, thanks and happy flying.

You have a fine TX and it will buddy box with any Spektrum or JR TX. Now all you need to do is find a buddy with experience and a similar system. It's more fun to fly with buddies anyway.
