Hello all, I have a question that I can not seem to find a thread or answer for as yet. (There is going to be someone out there to show me there is, I imagine). ;D I have acquired a couple of Spektrum 6100 receivers, one a 6100 and the other a 6100e. One of the aerial cables has come away from the pcb. I do not have it as it was like this when I got them. So... the question is, is the gauge of the aerial wire critical? I realise that the length should be the same, I have some wire that is very close to the size/gauge of the original and wonder if this would be OK to use? As for the soldering of such a small item, well, I have been doing stuff like that for over 40 years, so it should not present a problem! BTW, I have read about the problems some of you have had with 6100's, if I have the same, then I will let you know. As there are conflicting views, I have to see for myself. If anyone can offer some advice it would be much appreciated, if not, then I will let you know how I get on in a future post.

At the risk of being vilified for being cheap, I have used servo wire as a replacement for my 6100e's wire, and it works fine ( distances less than 500m). Only used in blackrats Eurofighter: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=543570.... But seems to work OK for me. Just remember short bursts of heat: mine is a 60W iron!

Toff, vilified, never! That is not being cheap, it is called thrift. We seem to be of like mind if that is possible for a soft southerner like me and a hardened Yorkshire chap like you. Hey Toff, that is a seriously powerful iron, 60W wow! I use a 30W, does what it needs, 6100 now restored. Cheers.
