Power station flue in the vid is 690ft high. Figure I was above it by a good margin.

Great video,thanks for posting. The quality is pretty good, what camera are you using? No real vibration problems either, could you post a pic or two of the way you have mounted it on the Cub please?

808#11 key fob camera mounted aft of the rear float mount by rubber bands. This makes the camera point downwards slightly and why the plane did not appear to be climbing in the vid but got well above the main flue.
In actual fact it was climbing hard for much of the time at 3/4 throttle.

Ah yes, the # 11 cam, when I have bid for these cams on line, probably wrongly, it seems a random version sent, certainly not of the quality that you have purchased, but still acceptable for an old boy like me with dodgy vision that just wanted to try stuff out. I love putting these on my car dashboard and recording the journey. Sad? Oh yes!
Mounted with rubber bands? PLEASE SHOW ME THE PICS. There is no vibration, awesome.
From other contacts, that 808 # 11 seems to be the best at the moment. That was way high, you must have great vision, thanks once again for the post.

Just took a spare white wing band, hung it on one of the aft wing attachment pegs, took it under the fuse and put it over the peg on the other side. Stuffed the cam upside down underneath it so I can get to the buttons. There are a lot of knockoffs of the 808 on fleabay which is why I got mine from a camera shop on amazon. Cost about a tenner delivered. The quality is better on my pc because youtube resolution is turned down or it would have taken weeks to upload using my crappy 1meg rural broadband connection. |
