I find the park flier skis too flimsy ( break easily ). Dubro Makes a larger pair that I thought of modifying to work with the float brackets. I saw the skis at the LHS they looked to be about 12" long. Another mounting bracket would have to be fabricated on the rear of the Ski. This way the ski could not flop around in flight. The floats work great In the snow, but it doesn't quite look right. Any ideas or thouhgts

I just reenforced the dubro skis with some epoxy in the hollow area the landing gear goes through... have been using the same skis for two winters now.

The larger skis they sell, the snowbird skis in the different colors work great. I use them on my e-flite mini stik, and flys great, and I have used them on the cub, and 40 size glow planes. Color choices are a great plus also.

I found the DuBro skis snap in anything 10 degrees F or less. I have just sheared those flimsy skis. Although, I never did try the epoxy trick....but the snowbirds are working good so far. I agree with gagallagher04401....snowbirds are the way to go. They seem more resiliant. Most flyers on these boards wouldn't fly in anything near freezing.....akdodger and I don't have a choice since we would be stuck indoors for 7 months straight if we did. I recommend the snowbirds.....they have been through a "Frozen-Hell in a handbasket" and have laughed it off.

I have use aluminum for any variety of camera mounts in the past. It is easy to work with, but can also break easily if the bends are made too sharp. It should be pretty cheap and easy to fabricate a pair for the float mounts. I am not so sure about the weight, but that depends a lot on the thickness you choose to play about with in a diy project like that. Take photos if you experiment with such. I'd suspect that skis on this float platform would not have the spring or flex of regular skis though. I never played with doing such, so that is just a guess on my part, so try it out and prove me wrong. :-)
