Since I put larger 2.5 inch wheels on the front on my cub, I picked up the 1 inch wheels below to try on the rear for better roll and a little more ground clearance. I had to drill out the hole slightly, but this fits with just enough room for the nylon nut and it rolls really well. Pic below shows new larger wheel next to original.

I could not find any 1" rear wheel...every listing showed a 1 1/2 " wheel so I bought it....have also bought 2 1/2 " front wheels......the place I intend to fly is very rough.....so larger wheels seem to be a good idea....have not flown yet and have not completed all the Mods, plus the weather has not been real great either. But it is early in the year. Still using the Sim, for practice.

hghost, You might find that the 1.5" tail-wheel will be a little too big. I think it might snag on the "curled" part of the wire, at least it did on mine. Hope it fits OK for you, but you might have to re-size it. Happy flying.

I tried installing the rear tail wheel it would have worked but it is wider than the axle . If I had a 1.5" one that was more narrow it would work. With this one I would have to grind down the hub to have room to put the nut on. But Height wise CH, it would clear the coiled tail wire. Just do not like the idea of grinding the hub...may see if I can find a narrow one somewhere.

hghost, I am trying a little experiment with the tail wheel at the moment. If it works, I will post as soon as I can. It is always the width of the wheel that is a small problem, give me a day and I might have a good solution. I will also reply soon to your thread on Cub storage, it might give you an idea or two.

I use a 1" rubber tail wheel and find it 100 times more responsive when taxing not much flex so goes in dirrection its pointed. Cuts through grass like butter.
