I was flying my cub this morning in about 6 mph wind and lost control of it. I thought initially it was the batteries in the xmitter since it beeped at me. However, after replacing the batteries, I was still having problem getting the elevator to respond. I thought: "great, the servo is stripped!", but it still did not seem right. I opened up my xmitter and had a look at the vertical control pot for the stick and I believe I found my problem. There appeared to be a short between the leads at the pot. See the pic: The 2 wires are soldered to the pot without separating the insulation between the two. The implication is that a short can occur here if the bare section of the wires is long and the lead gets twisted a bit. In my case, I've had my xmitter opened up several times because my throttle slider broke and I had to do repairs. I suspect this caused enough shifting to cause a short here. Anyways, my advice to others if they feel comfortable about opening the xmitter is to take an exacto knife and just split the insulation between the two wires about 1/2" on both pots to reduce any short possibility and get some separation between the wires. After I did this to mine and resoldered the leads to the pot my problem was fixed. cheers, dave mc
