Ok so i have only been flying RC for around 2 months now but decided i was ready for the Aileron Mod, so with the aid of many posts on here i got to it, nervous as anything during the mod but kept to it, with the ending result making me very happy, Then for the test, first flight scary as hell and what made it worse the Ailerons were inverted... AAARRRGGHH couldnt flick the switch as i have no nails, so trying to land with Ailerons inverted a no go so somehow managed to land with my rudder on the left stick, never flown with it like that before, but once fixed, holy crap, sooo happy with how it turned out, best part is i have extra movement on the control arms to double the Aileron throw if needed, I will try and get some video's but for now extremely happy, cant wait for my next fly, Check the pictures below and tell me what you think,

So quick update after today's flight.... I am in love again, barrel rolls, inverted flight and the best part apart from that is I can roll into it rather than half loop like I used too, Cuban 8's can also be done with ease, so happy with the mod, people thinking about it I would highly recommend it, so many more tricks to learn, and I didn't flatten the wing, left it standard, although I am thinking of adding a carbon fibre rod just to firm it up a little, but otherwise I can't get the grin off my face.. Still yet to get a video, might take my Gopro up next flight..

The hinge looks great! How did you keep it attached? Hinges tape only or something else? Also, if you are putting a GoPro on your cub I would recommend upgrading the electronics in it. I have been guilty of flying with the stock electronics, and when my ESC failed my GoPro was safely on terra firma with me....but I got heart ache thinking of potentially losing my GoPro in a tree for a few months. Looks good! Happy new year!

Hey iandhunt, thanks mate appreciate your compliments, with the hinges i put 2 x small plastic hinges on either side of the Aileron and then used the hinge tape for extra support, they feel really good, who says these cubs cant fly good, love my little aerobatic cub, The gopro wont being going on the plane as yet, sorry i meant up to the park with me, and well wont be going on it at all really, i would like to eventually get an FPV camera though, i tried the gopro once before and the thing flew like an absolute pig, agree with the electrics need upgrade if your gonna do that, nah i just put it on my head and film away, I did a range check but being the first time i was flying with Ailerons my mind wasn't there i was just too excited to realize they were wrong, big lesson learned.... slow down and double check. Thanks mate and i hope your enjoying your new year.
