I have not been on here in a year or two. Thought I would reintroduce myself. My name is Richard and I'm out of Bethlehem Ga (near Athens). I have been fooling around with antique cars and and not so much flying. The flying bug bit me again a few weeks ago. My neighbor bougt a heli and that was it. Step one was to buy a new Chopper and step two is to dig out my cub. I have a room full of planes and helicopters and the little cub is my favorite. Its such a maintanence free fun little bird. The thing I like most about it is it can be modified in any any direction you want so as your skill increases you can upgrade the cub to do what ever you want it to. It is a great little work horse and such a nice break between warbirds or where ever you aviation interest lies. I will have to buy all new batteries I doubt the lipos last two years of non use.
Here is my cub. She is 5 now and one of the original cubs on this board. She is on her second brussless motor. I used to fly her a few hours every day and wore out the original motor then I wore out a brushless. You can't wear the airframe out. If you don't crash they they fly forever. She has open cockpit, nav lights, landing lights, internal bomb drop, full house controls via DX6I, a color video camera in the cockpit and removable floats. About the only thing it won't do is make me a sandwich.
This is what I have been up to. I added rivets and repainted a Blade sr Huey. Now I plan on relocating the battery and putting a cockpit in it.
