hi there, would like to say hi and what a great resource this site is.
me and my housemate were both looking to get into rc planes and after looking around for a bit it was hard not to settle on the super cub!!
had my first flights on the weekend and so glad i bought chose the cub, can see why its the beginners favourite! did the usual thing and took it for its maiden flight in 10+ mph wind, ignoring all advice, but was a dream to fly. was doing loops and a couple of touch and go's before the battery ran out and have been flying it everyday since during lunch breaks at work!
again, this site has already been helpful in choosing the plane and will be even more so when i decide paint it and do the usual modifications.
ps, housemate wasnt so lucky, having never even owned an rc car his has been in two trees, a few 'spirals of death' and a very impressive dive from 30 metres of which did so little damage it wasnt even worth repairing the slight crack in the cowl. brilliant plane

Mate glad you enjoy it, i love mine, only been flying just over a month and already want more, i can do inverted flying pretty good now, hard to get straight but when you do get it over in a good position it looks amazing and feels even better, tip though: if your going to try this, have lots of altitude, it drops quickly when unstable... Keep on flying and loving it, i know i will be.

Glad you are having fun....it took my Super Cub 2 months to get out of a tree....best to avoid them at all costs! It's not a question of YOU avoiding trees. THEY are malicious and jump out into your flight path, just to spoil your fun. Buildings and fences do the same. A high tree jumped up and grabbed my SC at the weekend. That night there was a tremendous gale, with high winds and heavy rain for many hours. Fortunately, the winds brought her down to earth, although soaked through by the time I found her. I cooked her on the central heating boiler for 12 hours, after which all the electrics work perfectly. Never underestimate the evil intent of trees, bushes or inanimate objects. They hate model aircraft with a vengeance.
