Hey, group! Bought a SC last year to get back into R/C but never quite got around to finding a place to fly. Just took it to an open field nearby today and got two nice flights out of it.
Mine's the older (red) version. Would like to upgrade to 4 channels and lipo but not sure it's worth the cost. Fun airplane, though!

up grading is worth it to us rc flyers its just a matter of how much you are willing to spend. to up grade the red cub, you can go with the stock motor, but the rest of the electronic has to be changed, the esc/receiver,and the srevo, for the red cub servos are five wire, and the new esc takes a three wire, plus you will need to up grade to a four channel tx, cut alirons in the wings, chop the wings to take out some the dehedral, and add two servos, changing to a lipo is the simplest part, just pull the jumper

Well . . . I think I bought it from Hobbyzone, but it may have been a little more than a year ago . . .
Had it out today after work and flew two batteries worth. I'm involved with starting a R/C club at the high school (teach there) and we have a donated Supercub LP to start with. Kids have to pass a proficiency "test" on the sim, then another on my little "Playmate" before getting stick time on the Cub.

its good to hear that the high school is starting an R/C club, good luck with that project, the super cub is a great plane to start with.I started with the cub myself.
