Hey Flyers! I'm brand new to RC flight. I've been practicing with the Phoenix sim for the past few months, and my Super Cub was just delivered yesterday!! I'm very excited. Its all put together, and weather permitting, I'll maiden it today.
I just wanted to thank everyone here for the many useful and informative posts I've found here. This site is a wealth of great info, and I have links saved to many great tidbits. Thanks again! -Jason

Best luck on your maiden. If you found my previous oft repeated advice it's to get someone else to help out the first few times. It'll save you a LOT of grief. Buddy boxing is the best teaching/learning method. SIMS help a lot but aren't the same as real flight. If you got to go it alone, be sure to read this: 6 Keys to Success by Ed Anderson www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18Stock up on glue, tape, props, and apparently cowls. Be SURE to IMMEDIATELY turn off the throttle on any crash or nose over. To not do so will cost you a new ESC/RX.

welcome new flyer! rember that high is your friend, the higher you are, the more time there is for correction. And tape the leading edge of the wings, too save on those low booboos like wing over cartwheels

Thanks for the tips and well wishes! I hear you flydiver... real flight is MUCH less predictable than the sim. I do have an experienced pilot who's helping to get me started.
