I'm building a new Cub with Ailerions and here's the recipe so far.
E-flite Park 480 outrunner Brushless E-flite ESC 30amp Pro Hextronics HXT900 x 4 AR400 Spektrum Reciever
Haven't decided on a battery yet but was thinkin bout 2200 Mah 20c
Was thinking about putting on a UBEC behind the prop but i'm not sure i need one.
If i do need one how do i choose one for this combo ??

Learn to read specs on all electronics. It takes awhile to learn this stuff. Be persistent. www.e-fliterc.com/products/default.aspx?prodid=efla1030Up to 30-amp continuous current with proper airflow, 35-amp peak 5-volt Switch-Mode BEC circuit capable of 700mAh continuous current on any recommended input voltage Drives up to 5 analog or 4 digital sub-micro servos with the BEC That's plenty of BEC for your application.

Thanks Fly. I've been doing a lot of reading and learning but i've reached the point of saturation. Think i need to step back and let it all soak in.

Try this supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rg&action=display&thread=1858That's 4 years old though. In the meantime some of the ESC above 30-40A have replaced the limited linear BEC with much more capable switch-mode BEC (SBEC). The e-flite has an SBEC. I think all UBEC are SBEC based, that's why they can handle more servos, they have more power handling ability.

That's good to know and i'll keep a close eye on it. The last thing i want is to crash my new build. Thanks a bunch
