Is there anyone that has info on the stock SC motor compared to let's say a brushless park 480, T-10 ect? The reason I am asking is that many on here seem to jump into super powered motors compared to the original. I have flown the stock cub over 15 times and am, on the most part pleased with the stock but want only a little more plus a better esc for now. To be honest, I don't want it to go fast, just a little more. What brushless motor compares to the stock power? I want only slightly more power by going brushless and don't care much about 3-D or trying to track it at 50mph. I have seen countless suggestions on here but look very quick on youtube. Too me, much faster means more damage on impact. Thanks!

A way to measure motor output is by watts or amps. They are a measure of power. The SC stock motor is ~ 12-13A on fresh 3S AND the STOCK prop. Both the battery and the prop make a BIG difference. The float folks put on a 10x8 slowfly/fat prop and that boosts it to ~ 18-19A but at the loss of efficiency and a HIGH risk of burning out components that were never designed for it. The entire SC power pack was designed originally for 7-cell NiMh and not upgraded. This will give you some data to reflect on. supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=motors&thread=4624It's easy to get a brushlesss motor of appropriate KV (1000-1200) that will pull say 15A-20A. But, it'll be small and light by comparison to the stock setup and you'll have balancing issues. They can be dealt with but you have to plan your mod. Folks often go for the 450 or better to get the necessary weight forward. Important note - remember, YOU CAN control the throttle.
