Hey all, Nice to see an SC community over here. I thought I might share my SC, of which I'm mighty proud... Yes, its painted up like a luftwaffe Fieseler Cub with a two-tone splinter camo and 6 Balkenkreuz crosses. Swastika omitted for ethical reasons, what with flying this bird around schools etc. No major mods, although I fly without the spinner or landing gear spats. I've added a wing saddle and custom cowl meshing. After some crashes a long time ago, some components were replaced, like gear box, lipo, prop and cowl; No more crashes since though! ;D The next step is adding ailerons, which I hope to have done in the future. I hope you all like her. I'm not brilliant painter by any means, but I thought this would be a unique way of finishing the paintscheme of an SC. I'll post better pictures as they come from the field! Regards, Mike.

Cheers toff! Good to see another Luftwaffe SC out there! I really like the realistic paintscheme (mine's stolen from a Bf-110C/4) but I especially love the Storch-style landing gear! How did you go about making that? Any loss in aerodynamics? ~Mike

I think I used drinking straws with carbon fiber tubes inside, held in place with hot glue. Didn't really affect the flight performance ( I was using 3s lipos to power it, although it was at the time still brushed) However, within a few 'rough' landings, the hotglue had dislodged, and the tubes were literally flapping in the wind. I scrapped the LG after that. I re painted it in a tiger scheme, which did work really well, but also added quite a bit of weight. after yet another re paint, my cub is now on the porky side, and Is at the moment on my list of things to do........

Ah, with that in mind I might keep the gear as is. Good thing is the acrylic paint I used is light and easy to scrape off, so if I ever want a re-paint (Doubt it) I can easily do it without adding weight. I flew the SC today, achieved 5 consecutive loops without let-up, inverted flight and three touch and goes. I really put her through her paces! I'll put up some photos from the field later, none in-flight yet but soon hopefully. ~Mike
