i replaced the throttle in my hobbyzone transmitter with a 10k ohm potentiometer from radioshack and it seems to work... was it a good idea or will it cause problems later on? -update- the repair seems to work very well. less responsive than the original throttle but its much more reliable since there are no plastic parts to break. only thing i dont likeabout it is that its a knob now, not a slider.

You have one of the older 27MHz units (Ch1-6)? The slider was notorious for breaking, so much that simply calling Horizon would get a new TX sent out usually. It's an obsolete unit so doubt that option is available anymore.
In the end you've likely done something not too many people have done so doubt you'll get much qualified feedback. If it works, use it I figure.

thanks, it was only a temporary repair until i got the new TX i ordered.
-UPDATE- i got the TX i ordered from Horizon and it seems that they changed the knob so it doesn't put stress on the slider anymore but i think we should still be careful not to be rough with it, its only plastic.
