Hello to all. I just got my SC bind-n-fly yesterday after flying for the past month on the HZ Champ. I've had a blast with the little Champ and felt like I was ready to step up to something a little bigger. I'm new to the hobby and it's been a learning experience for sure. It didn't take me long with the Champ to learn that the wind is not my friend, but CA glue is! I was hoping to get the Super Cub in the air today, but the wind is blowing between 5 and 10 mph and even though I can't wait to fly, I'm going to wait until a calm day to try. I would hate to crash it the first try. I've been spending the morning reading post and hopefully learning a few things that I hope will help me. I know my nerves will be on edge the first try, lol. Love this site! Tons of information here for a newbie like me!

Welcome welcome! This site is great, the people are great. If you can fly the champ, this should be just as easy for you. It is a great first plane, it for me.
take care and have fun George

Thank you George! I can't wait to give it a try. Hopefully Friday evening I will get the chance, that is if Mother Nature cooperates. I bought some bigger wheels and tires for it today and also did a battery box mod on it so that I wouldn't have to force the battery into the box. It made it alot easier than it was. I knew it wouldn't be but a matter of time before the wires on the battery would be skinned and ruined. Thought it would be better to go ahead and do it now instead of taking a chance of messing the wires up and having to replace them.
Happy flying to ya! Chuck

You seem to be doing all the right things, Chuck.
Continue to be patient before going up. Flying the SC in very light winds is best for a newbie - or in fact for anyone! While you're learning, you get so much more fun and confidence if your plane isn't getting blown about the sky.

Hi Renard, I still haven't had a chance to get her up yet. It's been storming every evening this week and the winds have been blowing during the day. I'm going to be patient. I was nervous with the little Champ until I got used to it and I'm twice as nervous with this one. I don't know what to expect with the bigger plane, but I sure enough want it to be calm before I try. I flew a simulator a few times using the SC, but with the sim, my $$$ wasn't flying, and I didn't have to fix anything back went I nose dived it, lol.

I know how frustrating it is to be grounded.
The southern UK has been socked in with rain and blustery winds for about two months, due to an unusual weather system.
But in the last couple of days that system has moved north, finally giving us clear skies and gentle winds. Great!! We have been flying most days, making up for a lot of lost time.
I hope it clears up soon for you, too.
