Hello, New guy here, great site!
I have the HBZ SC BNF LP and have the stock 3S 11.1V battery. I clipped out the back of the battery box and now the stock battery goes in and out MUCH better.
I've read a lot here on lipo battery upgrades and a lot suggest cutting out the top of the battery box. I'm not 100% I'm ready to do that yet, so my question is....
What is the best battery ya'll would suggest that will still fit inside this battery box? I read online that the default is 70mm long. Now that I have the back of the battery box/cage cut out I would guess that I can get one a little longer, but nothing like these 2200mah batteries I see suggested that are over 100mm in length.
I'd like to get the best battery for my money and if possible increase flight times all while not cutting out the top of the battery box as I'm nervous about altering the CG, seems I've read some have issues with that. I'm not saying I won't ever attempt the more aggressive battery box mod, I'd just like to know which ones ya'll would suggest to A) still fit and B) get slightly longer flight times.
Thank you and thanks again for having this site I'm learning a lot clicking through the different topics.
Happy Flying, Gus

Hi and welcome.
For a long time I have used Loong-Max Tipple 20c 1300mAH, which are around 70mm. I am not a demanding flyer, so they suit me OK and I have no adverse comments.
As they are still a fairly snug fit even after modifying the battery box, I attach very strong cloth tape to each battery. This gives me something to grasp when easing them out of the box.
I don't know whether you can find them in US. Hobby King used to stock them, maybe still does.
People who use the longer 2200's usually mount them vertically, which is what I imagine you are contemplating doing. I have never tried this but my understanding is that it does not adversely affect the CG.
Look around this battery forum and you will find plenty of other comment about 'best LiPo'.
