Does anyone know if it is possible to plug two chargers into one 12v lead acid battery?
I could buy another 12v battery but they are very heavy to carry two around, if anyone has done this before could you let me know? Thanks very much

That should be no problem, other than draining the battery faster.

If it's a car size battery - no. If it's a smaller appliance type it may not handle it well. Check the amps.
Remember you are pulling AMPS. Car batteries are like 50 amp-hours. A single Cub lipo is 1300milliamps = 1.3 amps. Even a 2200 is only 2.2A. You can fill a LOT of ordinary lipos with a car battery in decent condition.

Thanks for your replies! My 12v battery is 7amps so say if I recharge 2 1.3A battery's (2.6A) And two 1.8A battery's (3.6A) This leaves only 0.8A left in the battery, is this safe? Will it harm the battery? Thanks again

Yep, surefire ruination. Figure about a 20% loss for charging inefficiency and throw in that lead-acid hates being discharged deeply. So you are pushing that one to the brink. By guesstimate I don't think I'd pull more than 5A out of it, 4 would be safer. You can maybe do 2-3 of those lipos, depending on the actual condition and charge of the 7A unit.
Figure NO rechargeable of any sort likes deep discharge-not even NiCad on a routine basis. Some like SLA and lipo are worse about that characteristic.

Oh ok, my battery is only about 3 moths old and the most I have drawn out of it at one time is about 2.6A. I just brought a new plane and was going to charge the battery's for both of them at once. So I clearly need to learn more about battery's and AMPS and such like. I appreciate your advice, you just saved my battery from its death!
