Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but have read many threads for assistance. I bought my cub a couple months ago and have been loving it. First RC airplane sine a simple 2 channel glider I had as a kid. The cub has spent its share of time in the hangar already, some from me but I've learned not to have as much faith in others the hard way.
At one point It was stuck at the top of a huge tree! Using a weighted string I got her out after many failed attempts. Amazingly the only damage was to the horizontal stabilizer. Using a technique I probably saw here, chloroplast with an integrated hinge, I made a duplicate of the original. Slightly heaver and bad jig jags because of the oval shape, I set out to make a custom shape. The new horizontal stab is awesome in terms of throw and has a smaller leading edge (just as stable!)
Ok so I'm getting long winded. Kinda introducing myself and my cub here though. Point is I push it well beyond its limits and with the increased g-force I have found the posts which hold the elastics have a but of play now. This is long before the wing is flexing without reinforcement that I hear people talk about (original wing still). I'm nervice I will have a catestrophic wing failure while pushing it too hard.
Before I clip, flatten, reinforce and add ailerons to my wings, I think I should address the elastic posts problem! Anyone have a similar issue? What did you do to reinforce the posts?
Have others reinforced
