Ive just seen clippers latest pics and saw some info from his 'zlog altitude logger'!! How great is that and where can i get hold of one? I have been curious as to how i can find a way of measuring my altitude during flight and has anybody else got one of these things?

I just replied to a similar question in response to my posting in the Videos forum, but here's the same information: I'm using the Zlog recording altimeter. Here's a link to the manufacturer's page: www.hexpertsystems.com/zlog/I paid right at $90 for it from Digital Products Company. I chose them because they were one of the few places that had it in stock and accepted PayPal. Here's a link to their product page: www.dpcav.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16198&cat=253&page=1It's really a neat little device. You can have it display your max altitude on the built-in LCD display while you're in the field, and then download the data via USB to your computer when you get home. The most difficult part was trying to figure out how to power the module. It's designed to be placed in-line with a standard 3-wire servo, but the Super Cub's stock servos are proprietary 4-wire servos. I ended up looking into possibilities of connecting it to the X-Port on the SC, and I was able to find this page which shows the pin-outs of the X-Port connector: www.rc-cam.com/cammanxp.htmI then just had to make some simple wiring changes to the X-Port connector so that they power went to the right pins for the Zlog module. So now, I can just plug the Zlog right into the X-Port, then attach the Zlog to the plane with Velcro and go.
