There's been allot of talk that adding two servos is asking for trouble, so I asked myself why can't I make them with one servo like bigger Nitro planes do? Now if you're not using the rudder you are still only using two servos. I used 1/16th inch rod and carbon tube. 1/16th inch wheel collars some nylon twisted 90 degrees. two rod and clevis Cut the carbon rod to length, bend and insert steel rod and bend again. Glue these into the wing One pic is a bit bury but shows a carbon rod in the aileron, cut this to size. Then using ca hinges I attached the ailerons I haven't flown it yet but will let you know how it goes. Thanks Dwayne

Whilst the amount work put in is impressive, I'm not sure where the '2 servos is asking for trouble ' has come from. I (and a few others on this site) have been using 2 servos for a while with no problems, and the added benefit they can be deployed as 'flapperons', if required. Just occured to me....is this the stock radio and esc, rather than a DX6i/ 7/ 8/ Futaba/ etc setup? If so, bloody well done! Also, are you going to remove some of the dihedral from the wing? Your new ailerons well perform better if you do!

Thanks Toff, I've been scratch building control line models for almost 40 years so the work put into this is almost zero. Yes it is bone stock and I have taken some but not all the diehedral out. Thanks again Dwayne

Have you flown her yet? I going to put ailerons on my stock RX setup and was thinking along the same lines as you (also an old time U-control builder back in the day).
I'd like to know what you did for the dihedral, carbon rod, if so what size and are you still using struts after stiffing the wing?

I'm not sure where the '2 servos is asking for trouble ' has come from. I (and a few others on this site) have been using 2 servos for a while with no problems, It came from me.....where else? ;D And it's not 2 servos, it's 2 MORE servos = 4 if you do it that way. It has to do with BEC power limitations, servo power consumption, and battery voltage. Time for a lesson. This one is a bit complicated. Put the beer down and get a coffee.
