Dx6i shopping list

Just accidently dropped my trusty dx6i, and have knocked something off.
Its a bit battered at the moment, so a (metaphoric) spring clean with new bits is in order.

1) Antenna - Mrs broke it chucking it in with those' bloody planes!'

2) Trim tabs - broken/ weakened and reinforced - but wearing out again

3) Landing gear switch ( switch and pot assembly?) - Unable to locate any replacements, although browsing online I notice that the US brothers use radio shack ( could I just order a normal switch from online Maplins- It is just an up/ down switch?)

Finally - Huge biggy - the roller is starting to go - still moves, not broken, but harder and harder to click.

but it's $14.99 with $12.99 shipping - JEEBUS - the radio only cost 80 pounds when I got it!

Yep. I know I should get a new DX7/DX8/ DX10t/ DX18 - but I do not have any 'real' spare money at the moment, hence parts'n'bits.

If I can get help from y'all, I'll try and organise it, and present it as a DX6i replace/ repair guide.

What's that all add up to with shipping? You really ought to save your shillings and upgrade. The DX6i has known problems with every one of your problems except the dropping part. Most of them don't do well with dropping and bashing around.

Face it the thing isn't popular because it's great, it's because it's a 'best buy', the most TX for the buck you can get in 2.4 with support. Everyone I know that uses them for some time ends up replacing the antenna, trim tabs, and roller. I broke the antenna hinge on mine with a minor (I thought) bump. I made a new hinge out of a bit of fiberglass rod and it still works. The one in there is fragile. Maybe it breaks away to protect more expensive parts??? Still a pain.

There's a number of corners that needed to be cut to get it into that price range. They probably make their money on RX. Now with the Orange RX out there I'll bet sales are way down on those and they'll need to cheapen up somewhere else.
