The only difference on the SC unit is they have combined the 'normal' 2 independent units. That makes sure you can ONLY buy their unit. This is called engineering based capitalism and IMO sucks.

I have used Corrosion X on the servos I installed on my SC Wing. I took the servos apart enough to put a few drops in, then sealed them back up. I've talked to the President of my club up here in Maine. He has flown for 50+ years and treats all his receivers with the stuff. He has dipped all his FM receivers right into the stuff directly and never has had a problem. He has not treated any 2.4 receivers yet but believs that would be no problem since the FM receivers aren't bothered by it. Happy Flying!

Well, I took the "plunge" and dipped my dsm rx/esc in corrosion x in preparation for flying on floats... The rx/esc is currently drip drying and I plan to install and test tomorrow or saturday. There is a tiny stretch of lake that has thawed enough for take off and landings...just have to shoo away the geese. I will report back.

No. I did not dunk the servos. All that Ive read says the the servos dont like the corrosion x. Im hoping that the servos will be ok. They are pretty sealed up as is.

So I wiped the remaining foul-smelling corrosion x off of the esc/receiver and plugged her in and everything seemed to work as it should. Tomorrow I hope to fly with floats for the first time.... I hope I dont really "test" the corrosion x by flipping over on landing or take off. Report to follow...

Flew off of floats for the first time today. The motor cut out on my take off runs at first due to what I suspect was too much resistance from the water and lack of full up elevator to assist the floats in getting on step. After a bit of thrashing and circling around, my technique improved and I was airborn... Truely amazing... Had some good laps around the lake and some ok touch and gos and then I brought her in without any issues. I had no need to test the corrosion x as there were no nose overs or other mishaps.. The innards did get quite wet from splashing but no issues to report. What fun....

You CAN treat the servos with Corrosion X. See my post above. The servos are not at all bothered by it. Works great. We use it up here in Maine. Just had our float fly this past weekend.

Nice pics. By the way, just take the tops off the servos (very carefully) and put just a couple of drops of the Corrosion X in there. Put the tops back on and you're all set. Of course, the object is not to have an upset....but if you do.... I flipped mine on its back this past weekend and plucked it right out, gave it a shake and off we flew. You just gotta love these planes.
