I have a HZ SC RTF (HBZ7400), that I've mod'd with 2.5 inch front wheels and 1.25 inch back wheel. I've nicked a few of the stock 9 X 6 props, so while the wife was in town I asked her to pick me up a spare prop. She returned with a 10 x 8 (PKZ1005).
I've read through this forum and a few others and get conflicting information. Some say the 10 x 8 will do harm to the motor, other's say they fly with it, with floats and w/o, without any problems. I also see that HZ lists the 10 x 8 as a "hop up" accessory AND it also comes with the floats.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The OLD 10x8 pulls significantly more amps than the 9x6. You will see a performance increase but at a cost. The cost could be as minor as eating up your battery faster. It will wear out the motor faster. It could be as high as burning out your ESC/RX unit with a potential crash.
The electrics are absolutely NOT designed to run on that power for more than brief periods, likely less than 30 seconds but typical of Horizon they will give no specs and no guidance on this subject. Whether you 'get away with it or not' depends a LOT on your flying style and your luck on how well YOUR particular electrics package was put together. There is a lot of variation and not a lot of quality assurance at this price point.

the 10x8 prop is an option for when use use the floats because u you need that extra thurst on water, but don't run at full throtle too long with the 10x8 prop.

Thank you for these responses you guys. I'll pull the 10 x 8 off and throw my last good 9 x 6 on. It's supposed to be clear and sunny tomorrow, so your response make sense and are very timely.
