Depends entirely on WHICH prop. LOOK at the blade. There are 'skinny' blades and 'fat' blades'. Some are floppy (GWS slow fly) and some are really rigid (Master Air Screw). EVERY single one will draw different amounts of power even if the numbers are the same. If you have a stock setup, go with known props. If you want to try stuff no one has used, then you are on your own.
The only way to know for sure what a blade will pull on a particular motor is to hook it up to a wattmeter.

I had a feeling that was going to be the answer.

For what it's worth, I just go to the hobby shop and buy a 9x6 prop, stick it on and fly.
I could be doing the wrong thing but so far nothing has burnt out. ;D

I had a feeling that was going to be the answer. Ah, you want the easy answer. Use any 9x6 you want except the GWS slow fly (fat blade) in around that size because they are too floppy. The stock prop is a fat blade. Anything else of that size will likely not pull more amps and most likely will pull less (skinny blade) so have less performance. If you want a good cheap prop get a GWS 10x6 HD (skinny blade) or an APCe 10x5.

I'll be trying GWS 10 X 8 SF anytime soon. I know that APC 9 x 6 SF works great.
