Hi all. I've just taken my cub out for a flight on this beautiful, if cold, day. I was a couple of minutes in, gently cruising at about 150ft, with all my attention on the cub when suddenly, out of nowhere, a buzzard comes and joins me. The bird, which was easily the same size as the cub, flew with the plane for about 2-3 minutes before drifting away to some nearby woods. It was honestly one of the best things i've experienced.

Yeah, I was just doing some slow turns and figure-8s and it stayed right with me, about 3 feet off the tail and to the right. Although, to be fair, it was flying alot smoother than I was...

I've had that happen with some local hawks. It is truly a thing to behold to watch these wonderful birds circling around. I kicked the throttle as low as I could and just did big slow circles. Now, BATS on the other hand were a pain in the butt. I have a link here somewhere that describes it in detail, but I had one, then two, then three crowd around me and I got so worked up I clipped a very high tree. A very zenless moment. I often wondered what the hawks thought of the cub. Here they are, so graceful and natural, and the cubs' up there jerking around... "poor old sod, it's probably the arthritis flaring up again" ;D Cheers, Joe

Just yesterday, I was flying near a wetland when a bald eagle (no kidding) started flying near my plane. It wasn't the least bit interested in my plane, but I was afraid some Audobon Society person might turn me in for harassing a protected species.

Sometimes when I fly one of my stunt kites, I'll have hawks come by and check out the kite.

That would be funny if there wasn't an element of truth.
