Does anyone or did anyone every pull their stock brushed motors and clean them out with motor cleaning solution and lube the bushing/barings?

Weird as it may sound this works-plain old water break-in: Brushed Electric Motor Break-In Guide www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5628228/tm.htmDon't expect a miracle but it may help a bit. The older the motor, the less valuable it may be unless full of dirt or debris from a crash or something.

I tried that on a motor that was cutting out for brief moments. It was an old well used motor back in the NiMh days. Didn't expect anything but it quit doing that. No performance change though. Never did figure out if the process fixed something in the motor (arcing causing interference maybe) or pulling the motor and putting it back in maybe fixed a funky connection.
The procedure was most useful on high performance motors (car racing mostly) that had softer replaceable brushes and benefited from a break-in process. I read one review of someone that did a water break-in on Cub motor and then tested on one that had only been flown. No performance difference. There is some evidence that the motor may last longer if flown hard a lot though.

So most likely a wasre of time to break in the motor but probly still good to pull it and clean it from Time to time

Likely won't hurt. Major benefit may be if if forces you to lube the bushings once in awhile, something that absolutely ought to be done. They are not ball bearings, just bronze bushings.
FWIW, I found a Teflon based dry lube that I used on the gears. They seemed to run a bit more quietly and smoother with the lube.

I'm been using this stuff in my helio gears called slide glide that I use in my pistol I use in USPSA combat pistol matches. its's light weight version grease that super stringy and its really smoothed out the sound of the gears. thinking about using in gear box of the SC. I use very little so it doesn't make a mess! the stuff if awesome and it stays put and doesn't ooze out or run when it gets hot.

Sounds great as long as you keep it out of the dirt.
