During a loop the wing snapped witch of course resulted in a crash. The fuselage was damaged as well when it slammed into the ground, it broke in two pieces. I glued the wing and fuselage with two component epoxy glue. Then I decided to flatten and reinforce the wing with carbon rods and give it a new paintjob. This is the result, hope you guys like it.

Looks nice!
It's amazing the punishment these planes can take.
Does she fly OK after mending the fuselage? Sometimes it's difficult to repair a total break accurately, resulting in the tail end being slightly twisted.
And what's that raised area on top of your cowl? Looks thicker than tape.

I haven't tried it in calm weather yet, only in winds between 10 and 14mph. It seems to fly well. The weather should be very good on Sunday, so I will take it for a test flight then It is tape on the cowl. A lot of it. The cowl was torn apart during the crash.

Love the paintjob! What type of paint did you use?

No struts? Is that part of the reason the wing broke? Just curious because I'm not happy with the way the struts attach to the fuselage.

If you look closely at the pic, you'll see the aileron mod has been done, and the wing probably now has a carbon spar in the middle of it. Once modded, the struts are no longer needed. I personally still use mine, but that's more for looks than strength.

For some reason, I'm not seeing the images attached to the thread. Thanks.

I began attaching the wing struts together under the fuse with those little "twisty" wires that close your bread bags. Quick removal for transporting my Cub. Great save on the plane.

Good idea, lancer. May I suggest you post it again, under Wing Struts? That will make your clever suggestion easier for others to find in the future. By the way - welcome to the SCC!
