I just bought a DX6i radio and would like to operate my stock SC- LP at 2.4ghz.
Do I need anything other than the HBZ #7537 DSM2 Receiver that comes on the SC- BNF?

If you want simple-that will work. You will need 3-wire servos also. Anything in the 9 gram size will work.
That unit is a combo RX + ESC and pretty much is not useful for anything else and IMO not a very good unit.
If you want better, get a REAL (meaning future re-useable) RX (Spektrum/compatible) and a brushed ESC + servos. You are not likely to use the brushed ESC and brushed motor in the future.
If you want best, do a full conversion with new RX, brushless ESC, brushless motor + servos. All of that is potentially re-useable.
All those conversions have been done countless times with full explanations and suggestions in the threads.
