I've charged the battery, hooked the battery to the ESC, but to no avail, no power. I'm hoping it's just the battery. The last time we flew her was over 15 months ago (deployed to Iraq). So, I don't remember if there should be a power switch on the receiver? Thinking that's why there's no power. Help?

Lipo or NiMh? Can you use a multimeter to check voltage? Readings on lipo are good, not as useful on NiMh but better than guessing.
Either way 15 months of sitting around would discharge the NiMh to death. 2-3 months would do it, but recover, 15months may not offer that option. If the lipo had been left fully charged it would have deteriorated. Lipos should be stored at 50% capacity (3.85v/cell), in a cool place. Fully charged and hot are bad for them. If left discharged too much it might have discharged to a state of no return.
There is no switch on the RX.
A bad NiMh might appear to charge....and not. All it takes is 1 bad cell in a pack to kill it. A bad lipo should not even be accepted by the charger.
So, I think you have NiMh if you say you charged it?
