Just got mine and built it and found that the rudder was warped right out of the box... setting the rudder trim meant running the clevis out to the bitter end of the rod and very little trim adjustment is left since the setting is so far out to the right.
I haven't flown it yet but am rather suspicious with the rudder in that condition - has anyone seen this before and any thoughts about it before I fly it?
Thanks in advance, this is a great board and resource!
Bob

Hey welcome! Use a piece of packing tape and pull the rudder to shape and stick the tape on and go fly it. I had to straighten my share of them too. One piece of tape about 6-7 inches long will do fine. Just bend and tape. Obviously you dont want to apply too much pressure to crack it but just enough to get flat again. Kevin

No problem Bob. I just got back from the park down the road. 18 deg F snowing like mad and a plane that needs some serious bench time. I am learning rolling harriers on my flight flex yak 55 3d and just crached harder than I ever have with this plane. Here comes the hot glue...hehe. Kevin

I am down in Stevensville, Michigan - just south a mile from St Joseph/Benton Harbor on Lake Michigan. We are getting blasted by the low pressure area coming through.
I should have gone out at sunrise when it was nearly dead calm but sat by the fireplace with my wife instead. I did the right thing there, but it is going to be a while until I can fly this thing.
My interest got restoked after flying a friend's RC plane down in Phoenix a couple of weeks ago...

That is a beautiful area if I remember correctly. I have been to quite a few harbors down there with my boat. It has been at least 10yrs since I was that far down though. If you guy's are getting anything like we are then you may want to invest in a set of ski's for the cub. I love this plane with them. It weighs nothing to start with and proves it when you land on snow. It just glides like a dream on it. Make sure to put plenty of additional markings on it when snow flying. Also you might want to put some screen in the cowl for those less than favorable landings. Take care and stay warm, Kevin
