Kind of new to building planes. I bought a hot glue gun the other day. It came with a few glue sticks. They are clear. When the glue sets it is kind of rubbery and soft and stretchy. Are there other hot glues? Is one better than the others for fomies? Do any set up hard?
TIA Paul

You want a low temp glue gun. Hot will melt the foam. Seems most of the glues are 'no name' or 'all purpose/all temp'. I read a recommendation for Arrow All Purpose. Took me awhile to track it down. Seems to work OK. Have not tried others. What hot glue works well on depends on the application to some extent. Can work very well for some applications and certainly is fast. I like it for servos.

Those are some interesting products. Can you tell if the foam glue is any different from 'regular' low temp glue?
I've used the superlight Spackle. Is the foam putty different? Does it have adhesion properties (somewhat glue-like)? Potentially damage some foams? How long to set up and to be able to handle?

hey flydiver as far as the glue I really don't know I never used hot glue
on my foam planes before. I just happened to see this stuff and
thought I would try it because it said foam safe it works good.
as far as the putty gos its all foam safe does stick somewhat never
had any damage to the foam on my cub. it drys liter set up about an
hour or less anyway I really can't compare this stuff to anything
because this is the first stuff I ever used on foam.
