Nothing worthwhile or entertaining about that. Just sad.

In the comments section he claims the jet is actually worth $6000, still a huge amount. I don't see anything wrong with spending huge amounts of money on jets as awesome as those, as long as you have the cash, are a really good pilot and accept that all it takes to lose it all is a split second lapse in judgement.

Ahhh, that explains alot, so not $20,000 just 6k, say no more, the idiot was probably using a junk orange rx and cheapo HK components. I'll withold anymore judgements until I hear what ghomer has to say? John

Once you get to that level you have long long ago dumped junk electronics. Those guys have $500-1000 TX, $100+ RX, Servos at $50-100/each, etc. Set-up and pre-flight can take more than an hour. They are pretty careful for the most part. No, they really don't want to crash but neither do we, eh? We still do. It all depends on your risk tolerance and need for speed and thrills.

My error, from what I had learned on this forum, particular from our friend ghomer, was that pay the right money and everything is bulletproof. Are you sure he had decent electronics in there. I really wouldnt be so sure? John

Methinks he had a classic 'dumb thumb'. One of the problems with flying that kind of $$$ is it tends to make you nervous. At that speed small errors have drastic consequences.
Nothing is bulletproof, you put in redundant systems if you are smart. One of the best ESC are Castle. I've had them fail right out of the package.

Out of interest I checked out there site and see they have a few vacancies going if any of our American friends are interested who live in Kansas!...... www.castlecreations.com/information/jobs.htmlJohn

At that speed, what chance do you have? At the most, our planes ( even fast pushers and EDF's) are topping 80 mph. That must have been hitting 200 or so. And, it was very low, and remotely piloted ( which, as any fighter pilot will tell you) is harder ( from an orientation point of view) than flying a real 'plane! Got to feel for the guy, www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL7upK2kUqQWatch the jet at 43 seconds. The russian pilot of that plane was in tears after the crash. Thats how costly and intense R/C jet flying is!

From that video, it would appear that 50% of Russian RC Jets have malfunctioning landing gear
