Hi. I'm relatively new and interested in upgrading from my stock SuperCub charger. Thanks for the advice to read: www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-lipo-batteries.htmlAfter reading this, I am considering buying the following so that I can parallel charge 4 batteries for my SuperCub as well as my other Eflite planes and Sukhoi. I'm not too "techy" in this area and I'm hoping that this one purchase will have everything I need. Could someone look it over and comment or let me know if I'm not thinking of something? I realize the charger is probably overkill for this stage of the game but I think I will eventually grow into it with larger and larger planes. Thanks! if you're getting a board that's specifically made for parallel charging, you can do no wrong really.
The only other thing to be aware of is that you don't ever want to plug a fully charged lipo in parallel with a empty lipo, it may be putting charge into the empty one in excess of the maximum recommended charge rate. Other than that example, it's fine to hook lipos up together if they're not at the same charge level, i've tested it before and the current flow between them is quite low.
You won't need a parallel charge cable, since each battery's EC3 plug plugs into the parallel charging board. Some boards only hook the batteries together by their balance ports, in which case it's best to use a parallel charge cable as well.
I have a parallel charging board that I made myself, and it works great. Being able to charge all your batteries at once saves heaps of time!
