I've used flight simulators with full controls (rudder pedals, yokes, etc) for years and even took a couple of flying lessons, so I figured it was time. I used FMS with a simple joystick for quite a while. Got my SC about three weeks ago and after the first outings were, uh, interesting. (I landed inverted on my neighbor's roof for instance: no damage until the wind knocked it down the next day) I was so nervous and that really was it. Once I got to bigger field and calmed down, I was doing much better.
So after 10 successful flights I can now take off and land on pavement, loop, hammer head stall (though they are sloppy), fly 10 feet off the deck (though not at full speed - yet) , circle around my position in a 20-25 radius circle (now I know what those control line wing-nuts go through).
My wife and family usually comes to my evening sessions. She's pretty d**n impressed and likes to watch. (Finally, something she won't complain about!!! :-)) I also attract a lot of attention on this field as I am the only one (think _ever_) to fly RC here. A lot of SC sales talk...
I also love to go early in the AM. I got my coffee and the light is just starting to glow when I get to the park. I'm flying before the sun is actually over the horizon. Awesome. (I just ordered 2 more batteries from batteryspace.com - 4 total).
I can now fly in the field behind my house with only a little apprehension. I'm sure that will dissipate over time as well.
No photos, no videos yet. We keep forgetting to bring the cameras!
