Hi all, What can I say. I took delivery of my SC yesterday and like all grown up kids had the box open in minutes. I have been worried all the time I have been waiting for it as to where I was going to fly as we don't have great big parks on this side of the pond. Anyway, after some serious thought I decided to go to the local football field. I was praying there would be noone around to watch the ensuing mayhem!! I disconnected the ACT sensors before I flew as I didn't know if I was going to manage the 150 feet required for it to be any use. To my utter amazement I took off from the grass and managed about a 4 minute flight before a bit of a bouncy landing. What a buzz! ;D Took off again and ran the battery down. Had to then go and wait for the second battery to charge and away we went again. The SC is a total blast. I managed 3 batteries today, 3 loops, 1 hedge landing and 1 fight with the goalpost and came home with no damage. ;D I even had a crowd watching me on my third flight and wasn't bothered one little bit. I found the plane to be very docile and very forgiving. It was a bit breezy and it had a bit of trouble against the wind. I can't wait to get it in the air again. I was also suprised how slow it will fly and how small an area you can use. All in all it was a great buy and I forsee hours of fun ahead. Thanks for all the tips I have got from this site they have helped make me one happy pilot!!!! Happy flying. Ravey

Hi Ravey nice to see a fellow Sotonian on the forum. Good to hear that your first flights have gone well- Isnt the SC brilliant? I'm well hooked on this hobby now thanks to the SC!

Hi Spen,
The SC is great. I managed another couple of flights today with no dramas. I find it very easy to fly due to its slow speed.
I also have a PZ spitfire which on launch disappears into the distance and causes instant panic.
I will look at getting some 9.6V batteries for the cub and see how these perform.
Did manage 3 loops one after the other today. Did start to turn to the left on the last one but didn't lose any height at all. Great fun.
Where do you fly in Southampton Spen?

Hi there again Ravey. I usually fly at Hamble airfield (now disused), its a bit rough for take offs and landings though. I used to fly at Mayfield Park near Weston earlier in the year when the mornings were lighter. How about you?

Hi Spen,
I sold my house in Hamble in April and moved to winchester where I fly in the local park. My father lives on Hamble airfield estate and I take the plane when I go to his house. I will be down there on Sunday and weather permitting will get out on the airfield or the cricket green.
I managed to snap the tail off yesterday but with some 5 min epoxy (great stuff) and a paper clip on the clevice got flying again today for 2 flights. Good as new!
Need more batteries tho. 2 not enough!!!
Maybe see you there sometime. Am planning on moving back to Southampton so may be able to make the airfield my local flying site
Cheers

Hi Spen,
Shame about the rubber, must have been a wobbly landing! Tape and glue work wonders tho. Sure the tail on mine is stronger now it has been epoxyed!
Did manage to get a few flights in on the cricket pitch by Hamble airfield last Sunday. It is really good as you can come in low across the airfield and get a smooth landing on the cricket pitch.
I am thinking of trying the spitfire down there as I think I will need a very long approach for my first few landings with it.
Can now fly the SC upside down etc and want to step up a gear. Will continue to fly it tho as I am sure I will crash the spitfire before too long.
Did give in and got 2 more batteries for the SC this week!
