Following a nosedive, I need to remove a damaged prop from my HZ SC. I've removed the spinner and the first nut and washer. Presumably the prop should then unwind anti-clockwise (??). But it won't budge. I've tried holding the prop shaft with padded pliers, but the prop still won't move and all I do is spoil the prop shaft thread. Any ideas gratefully received!

uh..mine may differ from others but, the prop does not screw on/off. After you remove the nut and washer, the prop should pull DIRECTLY off. Check the backside of the prop and you should see the prop has a recessed cavity in which another shaft nut is. The prop will not turn because of this nut holding the prop from the backside.
Pull the prop off lateral with the motor shaft. Gentle wiggles and she should break loose even after a hard impact.

the prop shouldn't really screw on, but it can get stuck on the threads. Just wiggle it and unscrew it and it should let go without too much trouble. If you grab the thread with some padded vice grips you should be able to unscrew the prop from there.

Thanks very much, fellas. In my stupidity, I assumed the captive nut in the prop cavity had to come off with it, therefore the prop / nut would have to be unscrewed. D'oh! Actually, the prop was jammed pretty tight onto its cavity nut. I eventually managed to lever it off the nut with a couple of screwdrivers. So thanks again. For future readers, I have since found a YouTube video about changing the prop, which stresses that the outer nut should not be over-tightened; this should avoid my problem, where the prop had been forced too tightly onto the inner, prop cavity nut. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xIU6jq60N0&feature=related
