Made a cardinal mistake that i new better than to do. took my eyes of the plane and tried to adjust on the transmitter in mid flight. plane was turning left only. on the ground had normal pre flight check with no problems. was working on transmitter problem and lost the plane. went to full power to climb and discovered that the plane was already in a dive. hit the ground at full power need to replace the motor mount, motor, bulkhead, cowl, gearbox and wing. the tail can be repaired for flight. still mad at myself for the mistake .

I do have to admit tho the cub is a very resistant plane considering it hit pavement. tail is fixed and in good working order. parts will have to wait till after the holidays.

oops...My first crash was three days ago, hung it on a tree, panic...I did not turn the power off, I was wondering what was that white smoke pouring out, at least I got a couple of good scary flights before the tragedy, the 10 dollar motor its on its way.

If you're sending power to the motor while the prop can't spin freely, you will burn out the ESC and motor. As soon as you hit the ground or a tree, you need to cut the throttle.

I would bet that the ESC burned up before the motor could. $26 USD gets you another one...
