Windy Sunday and I had to fly. lol. I had a blast with my son and lots os STOL flying. The 2.5 wheels are awesome for grass fields like this park in North Miami. Enjoy

Hahaha, looks like great fun, though I wouldnt dare fly in those conditions myself.. I never noticed this post before so can only guess it was quickly buried beneath loads more. I tend to check out the 25 most recent.
Cheers for sharing that and nudging us Erwin, great bit of footage!

Gotta have fast thumbs and an aggressive attitude! Lots of wind provides ample opportunities for cartwheels and breaking the tail off. Did you have to leave power on after landing to keep it from blowing away?

No need to keep power on after landing but very careful throttle management was needed to float like that. No accidents at all. I loved it and can't wait for another windy day.

But, like I've said before, Florida is always windy and, after flying everything from a Pitts Bipe to a foamie delta jet in winds, I guess it's a piece of cake with the Super Cub. I gotta add that I wouldn't ever attempt this without ailerons.

cool video. Before I went out for my maiden flight I checked the wind speed and it said like 5 mph, well when I got there the wind literally picked up to around 20-25 mph. I still flew it. It was kinda fun flying in that wind. I have had it where I would go way up in the air and shut of the throttle and literally just float back too earth. haha it was really fun. The big wheels are awesome. First I upgraded to 2.5in wheels but those just were not big enough, so now I have 3in wheels. Man do they make a difference.
