Now i just want to know some kind of tutorial can you give me and make up my mind for something like this... for everyting i have read on this forums, i know we need this things..... An ESC, dont know whats that ( i toght that was a receiver) Anoter kind of servos would work on my esc i need anote motor of course, brusless of course. i need anoter receiver anoter kind of battery and anoter kind of Radio control Another kind of motor mount and gear box too i guess. now i need to know how to fit each one with anoter........ some kind of explanation why this with this and why this with that. And one more question. i really do need to know what kind of tool is there available to meter the volts and capacity on the batteries, whats te difference between balancer and charger......... i think im gonna need both... A charger that can carge up to 3+ batteries at te same time.... my stock SC lipos, and my possible brushless upgrade batteries. thanks a lot! im getting passionate with this... and i dont have no body in here with me who can help me out with this. im alone in this city with this passion and i got only you guys to help me out with this... All these questions have been answered in this forum to some degree. Look around and see what people are doing and most have an explanation for why. Then you can narrow your questions down and get better information. Good luck to ya and welcome to the forum

Start at the start.
Answer these questions?
1. How much are you hoping to spend? Unfortunately, the stock SC requires gutting the electronics to swap to brushless. The BNF version may be different?
2. Are you wanting your Super Cub to have lightening speed and performance? This would require changing out everything, bigger motor, new ESC, receiver, servos, prop, (adding ailerons possibly)
3. Are you just wanting to fit a larger battery into the SC, and leave the motor and receiver as is?
You might consider buying a different plane from the start before dumping $150 into the S.C. to upgrade it all the way.
When you mention batteries, you sound like you are thinking they are different. IF you have the small, flat, LiPo battery, that is the same one everyone else uses. You can buy larger capacity batteries for longer fly time, but they are pretty much no different than what you have already, unless you have the old NiMH style.

Hi blink guy, i have been there myself, read all the threads, did two upgrades. As the previous response, it is much better to buy a new plane, whilst keeping the Super cub for more sedated flying and you must always keep a Super cub in your hangar. P Try either Parkzone Trojan or Stinson if you want to step up without the hassle, which I believe is what you want.
By the way you must have some skill to land it on 3x1 space. Interested in seeing some pictures or still better a video.

here's the issue. You need to first purchase a new transmitter to control and radio receiver for your plane. If you are hoping to stay under $100, Turnigy is your option. I am not too familiar with that brand, but I think you can get a receiver and transmitter for $40? Someone here will correct me if I am wrong.
If you get a new TX and RX, then you need a new ESC. It can be a brushed motor ESC or brushless motor ESC. Since you wish to upgrade your motor, you would want a brushless.
You already have a motor in mind, and that is one that many here are partial to. I use the Power Up 400 sport w. SuperTigre 20A ESC, which gives the SC just under 1:1 thrust to weight ratio with the right prop, but works with a 20A ESC. I would probably do it over with a bigger motor, just for the heck of it. But I am very happy with what I have. And anything larger would require a bigger ESC.
The 450 motor and 32 A ESC are approx $20 each from headsuprc.com
Finally, assuming you have the 5 wire servos in your Super Cub, you would need to replace them with standard, 3-wire servos.

Leisureshoot sumed it up pretty good. 35-30 SK Turnigy about $14 Motor mount $20 Grayson 30 amp ESC $35 HobbyKing 6ch tx-rx $25 9gm servos $3 each need min. 2 Thats $100 buck even not including shipping and you will want to upgrade the battery at about $12 each This also doesn't include all the other stuff that ends up needed or wanted like hobby tools, glues, solders, paint and aftermarket bling. This I feel is about the cheapest, give or take a couple dollars, to convert to brushless. This is using Hobbyking for almost everything. I tried to start off with out spending much money so my sweetheart wouldn't get mad, but I kept reading this forum and had to buy more! I have about $250 invested in my conversion not including the airframe. About $75 is shipping. So is it worth it for ya??? It is for me because I am stupid and like to spend money just to watch it break in pieces Kidding lol. I did it because it is a hobby that I like to do. Im not even done with this cub and I am planning my build on a fun cub!

And as you do this for longer, you'll get p!ssed off with the crappy HZ charger so you'll want a proper one (add $40+) plus a shed load of other stuff that you'll want or need.....It is assured that RC aircraft are a constant drain on finances. Upgrading my SC cost in excess of twice it's original price, perhaps nearly three times.

Upgrading my SC cost in excess of twice it's original price, perhaps nearly three times. It's quite an enigma. One would be much better off buying a SC body only, and adding the components from scratch, rather than spending $180 on a RTF version, then adding another $125+ to upgrade it. But, RTF is what gets most of us hooked, and without it, we wouldn't have bought a SC in the first place.

Yep, by the time you figure out there might have been a better way to go, you are already well down the path.
Best way-join a club, use their trainers on a buddy box. Probably cost the same as the Cub. THEN get what ever you want under the tutorship of the knowledgeable club members.
Normal way-get a Cub and crash the bejezus out of it. Get sick of the electrics. Upgrade everything.

Crash the hell out of the RTF, and by the time you start upgrading, you can buy a new wing, and fuse, etc... so you don't end up with a nicely upgraded piece of crap that has been crashed 10 times.

what charger do you recommend that will allow me to charge several batteries at te same time and for a larger capacity so when its time to upgrade i can use te same charger for my new batteries and old 1300ma batteries..

Just so you know-multiple batteries are related to WATTS. You want to do multiple batteries, watts cost $$. The various low watt output charger (like 50W-Accucel 6 and their various clones) claim to do multiple batteries but will only do it sloooowwlllllyyyy. You only want to spend $30 > go back to school. You OK with more than $100 > you have some viable options.
