After virtually every landing, my tires being so big (3 1/2" treaded dubros) bend the crap out of my wire gear. Any aluminum or lexan replacment gear, or ideas?

There are many different solutions in this forum. Have a look and pick your favourite. Personally, I replaced the plastic bits with sheet aluminium. Works like a charm.

Thats not the piece I was talking about. I meant the main gear wire, not the plastic cover. I scrapped those a while ago. They would not allow my tires to roll.

The aluminum cover idea, required you to attach the metal wheel struts to the aluminum/lexan/plastic cover with small wire tires, or fishing lines, etc....
This will help support the wire landing gear struts. Really, even the light plastic ones will work ok, if you attach them to the metal struts.
