Quite boring Vid of my SC, first flight with ailerons. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUg2T5gmhC4Had to film it myself, so the camera is taped to my transmitter ( no zoom). Sorry for the bits where you can see sky and nothing else! Hey Toff, that was the first time I heard of someone putting a camera on the TX. How did you like it with ailerons? Happy you did the mod? On the camera issue, I fly alone and don't belong to a club. So i needed a easy way to film my flying. First I mounted my camera to the top of my motorcycle helmet with Velcro and that worked great except it gets hot as he'll in the helmet and you look like an idiot if someone sees you. Lol Then, I mounted it to a hard hat. Not sure if you use that term in the UK but it's the yellow or white plastic hats that construction workers use. I drilled a series of 1/4 inch holes from the front to the back and put a 1/4 inch bolt thru the hole and screwed the camera onto the top of the hat. Most all cameras have the threaded insert on the bottom. The different holes that i drilled were for adjustments. I finally found the hole that worked the best and that's what I used for a while.(looks a little weird) One day I was flying and a family road up on bikes and that's when I thought of the system I now use. I use a bicycle helmet. It's very light, very comfortable, and you get lots of air circulation. I used Velcro again until I found the perfect spot and then drilled a hole and mounted the camera. What I like about a head mount system like this is the camera tracks where your looking.( or should I say where your head is pointed) after a few times you will get used to moving your head instead of just your eyes and most of the time your plane will be right in the middle of your video. ( every once in a while I hear a comment like "that's a cool camera setup" ;D Ifly

Hey Toff, that was the first time I heard of someone putting a camera on the TX. That's how I do it, too: It's not the best but it works most of the time.

I love flying my SC with ailerons! Now it actually does what I want it to do, and I feel like I actually have control, rather than waiting to see if the plane is going to do as its told! Just for info - 2200 zippy 3s lipo, 35 amp lipofly esc, stock motor, stock prop (10x8), 4 towerpro sg90 servos. Works really well, even in strong (ish) wind. I know the camera set up isn't great, but it was all I could think of at the time. I'm using a samsung digital camera for filming, so basically big and boxy. Ifly, I like the idea with the helmet, So I might give it a go. Thanks for sharing that! I'm also a lone flier, so ideas as regarding self filming (Oo-er!), are very welcome!
