Hi
Well I managed to snap my cubs fuselage when it crashed! Its snapped the nose off from roughly in line with the front of the battery compartment. I've only just glued the battery tray in due to a hard landing last week. I'm guessing it was weakened from the last crash.
Is it possible to glue it back together successfully?? I have gorilla glue but have my doubts!
Cheers

Yes it is and it will still fly great. I use eflite foam safe CA. It is avail through horizon or most lhs's. I also recommend using a few small toothpics or cf rods in the break for added support. I have a mostly glue and tape SC and it flies better than the other 3 or 4 (hmm better count). This is the nice thing about these foam jobbies.....they break and glue in under a minute. Peace

Broke mine before I even flew it! I used liquid nails perfect glue 1. Should have used toothpicks also. Maybe next time. HAHA

Strange, I replied to this earlier today but it isn't shown up! Thanks for the replies. Going away to glue it back together and see how it goes

I've got it stuck back together with liquid nails and it seems to be holding. Will need to get some CA for quick repairs whilst out flying

HAHA Bamboo skewers are tougher than toothpicks, longer too if that is a factor in some repairs. You can get skinny and thicker ones too at specialty Asian grocers. I have an Aerobird wing broken in 3 places I put back together reinforced with skewers and I think it's actually a tad tougher than the original. Note: for new "gluers" BE CAREFUL" with some glues. Several have solvents that will melt the foam. I have a buddy that used Shoe Goo on his Cub and made the tail junction all rubbery (toluene I think). CA needs to be FOAM SAFE. Regular CA will melt (some) foams. fly

You are right about that! I did the big NO NO myself when I was learning. Heck about 3 weeks ago I grabbed the wrong bottle of CA off the shelf and applied it to a elevon I was putting on my B-2 and melted it. I mean it actuall smoked and melted as if it was on fire. Make double sure you grab Foam Safe CA next time.

The foam safe CA works OK but is a weak repair when compared to 5 min epoxy. The tooth picks and tape are a good idea for strenth.
