I'm pretty excited today my floats set is suppose to arrive. Should I use the 10x8 prop that comes with it? Or will this burn up my electronics? Any other advice for my float maiden?

For the stock motor, you'll need the 10x8 prop to take off from water. Just avoid using wide open throttle for more than about 10 or 15 seconds and the receiver should be able to take it without too much trouble.
Having never used the floats myself, the only other advice I can offer is to look at videos on youtube of people flying their cubs with floats so you can get used to how to land.

The 10x8 prop will hardly damage your motor or ESC; I few that setup before the SCLP came out with a 15C 11.4V LiPo and it worked great everytime. Never burned nothin'! I flew with nothing but floats for 6 months straight, too. On take-off apply full up-elevator (pull stick back) until you are about to lift off; then apply only slight up-elevator to lift-off. This is to help the floats dig through the water better and gain speed quicker. Land with the Greatest Angle of Attack so the back of the floats touch down first. Don't over do it or you might stall and flop down and splash water all over your electronics. Climb as high as you can and try out new maneuvers you can only do with your newfound center of gravity.

Good luck and happy flying with the new floats. I don't know that I will get to before I leave. When I had the stock motor I used the larger prop that came with the floats...all flew great. It was my landing that didn't go so well. I'm a little nervous to float the brushless 480. I'm sure that it will be fine but I just don't want to drown it.
